Hong-Chih Kuo Will Try It Again On Tuesday

by on April 19, 2008

In his first start of the season after replacing Esteban Loaiza as the fifth starter in the rotation, Hong-Chih Kuo was only able to go 4 innings but has been given the nod to start again on Tuesday in Cincinnati...

Hong-Chih Kuo has always had the stuff to be a great starter but he needs to learn how to not try and strike every batter out... he's got the stuff where every now and again he's going to have to to throw his best stuff over the plate and let his defense play some "D"behind him... That's the only way Kuo makes it into the 5t, 6th and 7th innings.

Because of his brittle elbow, the Dodgers would prefer to start Kuo but he's only going to hurt the team if he's only going 4 innings an outing...

The way he's pitching right now, going after all batters aggressively and then nibbling at the plate I'd be surprised to see him ever get out of the 5th!
