The LA Dodgers have long touted Chad Billingsley as one of their best pitching prospects in ages and true enough he did have a break out year this season going 16-10 but the time has come for him to take the next step in his progression.
Tonight Chad Billingsley has a chance to erase game 2 of the playoffs by establishing that inside corner early and often. I'm not saying he has to throw at anybody's head but he's got to establish the inside corner and he's got to keep Phillies hitters off the plate.
For all the sissy reporters and baseball beat writers that are saying it's dangerous and it shouldn't be part of the game, I have this to say: Guys like Don Drysdale, Roger Clemens and now Brett Myers of the Phillies they make their living pitching inside and then freezing you on the outside corner... it's how they keep you honest and it's how you go from being a good pitcher to being a great pitcher.
The LA Dodgers Chad Billingsley has the stuff. The question now is does he has the balls to throw inside when he needs to and to protect his batters when called upon?
LA Dodgers fans will find out tonight and Chad Billingsley will find out that going 16-10 in the regular season means jack shit when you choke in the playoffs.

There are three and half days left till the start of spring training. What are the dodgers going to do. They have no complete starting rotaion, what Schmidy is going to come back as the most improved player, Chad’s broken leg is going to lead him to the Cy, Estes is going to go 10-0 against the Giants. I don’t think so. They still need a hole lot more. The infiield is back, but Juan in center, they did not do it last year, or the year before. Manny is still there, but fuck him, he has already turned down three contratc offers. What else you going to do with him. Leave Joe alone, he knows what he is doing even though he came out alkin smack about the yanks and steroid filled A-rod. He had the right, you cannot expect this man to be quiet after all the shit he endured at NY. I just don;t just why they cannot sign Dunn, for half the price and half of the problems. We can get it done. Let the yougnster have fun this year and bring back Nomar and ther will be no problem, he will bring thejm together off hte bench. This can be the dodgers year if we can just get one power bat.
